Abstract

Acute appendicitis (AA) is a common pathology in the pediatric population however the diagnosis is not always simple due to multiple clinical manifestations. Lately many diagnostic exams have been used in order to confirm the diagnosis, including the scanner (CT). This test is expensive, not risk free and often unnecessarily indicated. CT should be only done in exceptional cases, when diagnosis remains unclear despite appropriate observation and when implies a change in its management.
