Introduction: Medical simulation is an educational tool that replicates simulated clinical scenarios. The goal is to provide medical students and healthcare professionals with the opportunity to learn in a safe environment before encountering real patients.

Objective: To understand the current relevance of simulation as an educational tool in medical education and other healthcare careers.

Methodology: Review of the medical literature published in PUBMED.

Discussion: Medical simulation is a widely used methodology worldwide for teaching and learning processes in medical practice and patient care. It offers a safe learning environment and the development of technical and non-technical skills in students, preparing them to more safely care for patients.
